Returns and cancelling
1. Cooling-off for online orders
If you are an individual, not a company, you may cancel an online order without a reason or penalty within 7 days after delivery of goods, or after signing an agreement for services (section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act). We refund you within 30 days, less the direct cost of returning the goods. This doesn't apply to services you asked us to start within those 7 days, to software or licences once activated, or to goods made to your specification.
2. Defective goods
Goods you buy carry the Consumer Protection Act's implied warranty. Within six months of delivery you may return goods that are defective or unsafe, and choose a repair, a replacement or a refund. This doesn't cover damage from misuse or accidents. Manufacturer warranties apply on top of this.
3. Rentals and plans
- You can cancel a rental for free before the equipment is delivered.
- After it starts, a rental runs for the minimum term in your agreement. You may end it early with 20 business days' notice. You then pay the early-end charge shown in your agreement, which is never more than a reasonable amount for our actual loss.
- Monthly plans and subscriptions can be ended with one month's notice after any minimum term.
- A period you've already paid for runs to its end, and is refunded only under the cooling-off rule above.
4. Rent-to-own and credit (once offered)
Credit agreements will carry the cancellation rights in the National Credit Act, including the 5 business day cooling-off period for agreements concluded away from DIALE's premises.
5. Refunds
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through PayFast, within 30 days of the cancellation or return.
